Integrating Important Keywords Is Critical
In order to find something on the internet, people must type keywords into the search engines. This is why it is critical to integrate important keywords into the content of a website. No matter how excellent the text of your website is it will be ignored by search queries if it lacks keywords. This is probably the most common mistake people make when they craft otherwise an excellent website. For example, a website that is promoting walking for health and fitness will have a hard time being discovered if the terms people are typing into the search engines are missing from the aforementioned website.

Select The Right Keywords
However, it is also important to select the right keywords and not selecting keywords without any adherence to the common keywords people will utilize. Here is an example of how an otherwise excellent content article could be undermined. Let’s say that the hypothetical walking for exercise website published an article on how walking exercises burn carbohydrates. The keywords used in the article are “walking burns carbs”. This is a really poor choice of keyword relevancy for a number of reasons.

Attract The Widest Amount Of Traffic
First, it is too specialized and pinpointed. Yes, carbs can make you overweight and any walking exercises can aid in burning carbs; however, the vast majority of people looking to burn carbs or lose weight by walking would not type in “walking burns carbs”. They would type in much simpler terms such as walking fitness, walking weight loss, burn carbs, walking exercises, etc. Sure, there may be a few folks out there who might connect walking with carb burning but their numbers are too few to craft specified keywords around them. Remember, you want keywords to attract the widest amount of traffic as possible.  Keeping your keywords more relevant or mixing relevant keywords with specified ones is a better idea.

Shorter Popular Keywords Have More Competition
Ranking for the shorter, more popular keywords is a whole other story. You will find the most popular, shorter keywords, have far too much competition to rank well, and you could spend a lifetime and fortune trying to rank in the top 10 for them.  A better approach is to put your effort into ranking for the long tail keywords and LSI keywords. Although your traffic won’t be prominent, your results may surprise you.  I will cover this in more detail in a future article because it is very important you understand the proper way on how to master this strategy. Keyword analysis is a major area that you need to focus on to be highly successful.
Until next time, great success in all you do!
