Autoresponders are a great tool and an essential tool for any Internet marketer. If you are not familiar with autoresponders, please visit AWeber.comand they show you the power of the autoresponder under their Features category.

I would like to share some tips with you that will make any autoresponder series work better and harder for you. Today’s post will basically hit on one factor of a great autoresponder series and I will finish the other tips in my next post.

The first item that I would like to share is how important the look of your message is to your customer. I am sure that you have recieved e-mails with the content in your message looking like a three year old had typed it. You have seen it, the inconsitant line lengths, unequal spacing and other goofs that make the message look not only unprofessional, but unreadable. Not good, since that is the whole idea of the e-mail is to get you to read it and buy something.

The main cause of this disaster is the formatting of your e-mail message. Not all e-mail programs are set up the same, so your e-mail will look different in Yahoo mail, if it was sent from AOL mail. So here are the tips that will help your e-mail look great when your customer gets it.

Character length - Keep the length of each line in your e-mail to 65 characters or less.

Use Hard Return - Always use the hard return or enter key when you get to the end of a line. Not all e-mail programs have the auto wrap feature, so if you use the auto wrap when you write, your message will be all different lengths when your reader receives it.

Use Fixed Width Font - Using a font like Courier New will give consistent width to your characters, unlike proportional width characters that change width for spacing, capitalization and other keystrokes.

Using the above tips will get you started towards having a great looking e-mail that you will send to your customers through your autoresponder. In my next post, I will give you tips to having great content in those autoresponder messages.
