5 Ways to Get Your Blog Indexed by Google in 24 Hours

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

This is a guest-post from AdesBlog.com. Follow Ades on twitter @ades.

We all know that content is king and that if you keep blogging… if you keep doing what you love… the traffic and the money will follow suit. While that’s partially true, there is also things that you can do to:

  • Index your newly launched blog fast by major Search Engines
  • Increase traffic to your blog
  • Improve your SERPs (Search Engine Result Positions)

Why wait right? Content can be king but waiting around for traffic to come by itself is not a good way to start blogging. So let’s start…

Getting Indexed

Let’s say you launched a blog today and want it on Google’s results tomorrow. Can this be done? Yes.

Easiest way to get indexed by major Search Engines is to get mentioned by established blogs. This usually will get your blog indexed within 24 hours. But since we are new (i.e the newly launched blog of ours) I don’t think any blogger want to mention it. So instead of begging other bloggers to notice your newly launched blog, you just have to figure out other ways of getting indexed by Google fast. Can it be done? Absolutely! (All it takes a little effort on your side).

1. Blog Communities

There are few blog related community portals that have a very good rankings in Google and other Major Search Engines Results, they are: MyBlogLog, BlogCatalog, Blogged and NetworkedBlogs, particularly MyBlogLog. This means that if you get your blog on these blog communities, Google will have no other choice but to index your blog. So, go ahead and register for an account on these communities and list your blog on it.

What to pay attention: Your blog’s description (have a proper write-up), keywords & tags (add related keywords and tags to your listing, this will be used by other members to find your blog), branding (put your logo, avatars, screenshots etc. have a consistent branding everywhere), and list your blog in the correct category.

2. Site Valuation & Stats Sites

Some of those How Much Your Site Worth? sites have a good ranking in Search Engines. All you need to do is to go there and check how much your site worth. This would create a special page for your blog and consecutively it would be indexed by Google. Here is a list of worthy sites: WebsiteOutlook, StatBrain, CubeStat, WebTrafficAgents, BuiltWith, WhoIs, QuarkBase, URLfan and AboutTheDomain.

3. Feed Aggregators

List your blog’s feed in these feed aggregators Feed-Squirrel, OctoFinder, FeedAdage. Once you have submitted your feed to these sites, they will keep track of your newly published posts and index them in their site. Whenever someone clicks on the blog post title, he/she will be redirected to your original blog post sending you free traffic and getting your latest posts indexed by Google.

4. Social Sites

Registering account on Social Sites with the same username as your blog’s URL is very effective in getting your blog indexed by Search Engines. Especially for those targeted keywords.

For example, if your blog’s name is WhiteElephant, it’s a good practice to register the same username at twitter as @WhiteElephant, and to create a page in Facebook at www.facebook.com/WhiteElephant. Having a consistent keyword-username on all major Social Sites will help get your blog indexed faster, and at a later stage it will also help build a “brand” for your blog.

So, get account on major Social Sites for your newly launched blog, namely: Twitter, Facebook (create a page for your blog), Digg, StumbleUpon, Delicious etc. By the way, it’s a good pratice to create a separate Social Sites account for each of your projects. This way you can stay focused and post messages that are related to your project. In the long run, this will help build a community that are like-minded around your project.

Note from Darren: it’s worth nothing that many social media sites (like Twitter) use no follow tags on links which means the links don’t really help with SEO. Having said this - it’s still worth getting pages for your keywords/brand as these pages can rank in and of themselves in Google and can help you to have control over numerous search results for the same keyword.

5. Misc Sites

Squidoo is a community website that allows people to create pages (called “lenses”) on various topics. Creating a topic that is related to your blog and then including your feed in that page would help your blog get indexed by Search Engines. Squidoo used to have a really good ranking in Google results, but not so much today. But it’s still ranks well and it shouldn’t be neglected.

ChangeDetection is a website that monitors sites for changes. When you monitor a particular site using ChangeDetection, it will ask you whether you want the notices to be public or private. If you say public, it will be published in their news section. For example; AdesBlog.com got an update today, type of update: text additions etc. This of course will get picked up by Search Engines and Search Engines in return will index your blog.

Technorati is a search engine for searching blogs. According to Wikipedia, as of June 2008, Technorati was indexing 112.8 million blogs and over 250 million pieces of tagged social media. It’s a dying breed, but not just dead yet. You have to definitely register for an account and get your blog listed on Technorati.

That’s it. Once you are done with creating accounts and submitting your newly launched blog in the above mentioned sites, you should see your blog in Google’s Search Results within 24 hours. Most of the time it will appear within the next few hours only.

Lastly, getting indexed is one thing but sustaining that traffic is another. And this is where the Content is King phrase should truly be emphasized. Because, without a good and valuable content, all your effort will be just wasted.

Targeted Traffic is Like Gold

Monday, December 15th, 2008

There Is Only One Type Of Traffic you Want!
There’s traffic and then there’s targeted traffic. While both deliver visitors to a website only one of them delivers the type of traffic that you want. Obviously, it is the latter, targeted traffic that a website really wants. Targeted traffic is essentially comprised of visitors who fit very specific demographics. These demographics will include those people who are most beneficial to the website. For commercial websites, targeted traffic is absolutely critical for success because visitors who have a higher chance of becoming customers are what make the website successful. Those visitors who are not likely to become customers are not entirely helpful for the fiscal success of the website.

Far too often, website publishers will embark on a traffic building strategy that centers on acquiring traffic from anywhere and everywhere. The notion here is that all traffic is good traffic. So, they will place or purchase links all over the web. This will deliver traffic but a lot of the traffic will not necessarily be interested in whatever it is the website is offering. For example, if a website sells knitting supplies and is placing links on sporting goods websites then the odds of these links delivering direct traffic interested in knitting will be minimal. However, links placed on hobby sites associated with knitting would deliver the proper targeted traffic a website needs to be successful.

Now, some may argue that massive link building that pays no attention to targeted traffic can still be valuable a far as search engine rankings. This is partially correct. Honestly, all links that you place on the internet might count towards boosting search engine rankings. If there is an obvious similarity between the subject matter of the website where the link is placed and where the website the link directs to then the impact on the search engines will be positive. If there is no relationship, the link may or may not count towards search engine rankings. Really, non-targeted links are a toss up. That is why it is always best to stick with targeted link building strategies and targeted traffic plans.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

Generate Web Traffic-7 Winning Techniques You Need To Know

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Generate web traffic depends on the amount of visits a website receives. The classic term traffic generation determines if a website will either survive or not. The more visitors a web site will have, the more likely is to survive and the business to grow even more. This is the very reason that drives internet marketers to constantly find new ways to get the attention of their targeted audience.

Traffic generation remains the only source that can help you make money from your online business. The more traffic you get, the higher the chances of increase in the volume of your business. For this, internet marketers wisely prepare ahead their campaign, and the main goal is to be a search engine favorite.

Here are some winning methods to generate web traffic:

Invest in good advertising with the popular search engines.

Google and Yahoo usually draw huge number of traffic, as they are the top search engines all over the internet, and they also some offer interesting schemes for advertising.

Trade links with other websites and shops online.

Link trades or link exchanges are when two websites agree to feature hyperlinks to each other’s websites on their respective websites. These links can usually be found in a list, or sometimes on a separate page on the website. Link exchanges can benefit both parties and they are free, as they only require an agreement.

Market virally to generate web traffic

Viral marketing is a sort of undercover advertising, in which videos, games, articles and so on are spread on the Internet through blogs or sites, having the company’s name attached to them. This way of advertising is cheap, but it depends on how creative and attractive you can be.

Use the most appropriate keywords and keyword phrases for your website.

Since search engines are the essential tools for anyone using the Internet, they should be made easily accessible by their businesses. This process is called search engine optimization and will be a major factor to generate web traffic.

Write articles to spread awareness and boost interest in your site.

You can write articles related to the industry you are in, and it can be put up on the company’s website, or submitted to other such sites. You can submit your articles either manually, or my favorite is using a top notch article submission software such as Article Pro Software.

Get involved in online forum discussions and create your own online communities.

Another way to advertise your site is to participate in forums, so that more people find out about your top quality services. The community you start creating on the forum, will ensure new market, and also attract new customers.

Make newsletters available to generate web traffic.

All the same, newsletter is another means of traffic generation to increase the interest in your business. Make sure the information you provide has quality content, so that people will subscribe to your newsletter.

The success of all online businesses depends on the traffic generation you create for your website. Internet businesses can indeed be more than profitable, as long as you keep on tapping the endless resource that is the World Wide Web.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

The Multiple Domain Name Marketing Strategy

Friday, August 15th, 2008

What Can You Do To Develop An Edge?
Standing out from the crowd is difficult when it comes to running an online business. After all, there are probably a host of other online businesses that are similar to the one you are operating. Even more problematic is the fact that both you and your competitors are vying for the same search engine rankings as well as visitor traffic. So, what can an online business do to develop an edge? One proven method involves purchasing more than one domain name as a way of promoting your business.

Own More Of The Internet
Owning more than one domain name never hurts when it comes to running an online business. Before I ever even heard of John Reese and his philosophy a few months ago, I figured out that in order to be a player and drive more traffic you need to acquire more internet real estate.  Not that I’m any better than John, I have a long way to go in that department, but it was just common sense to me in order to acquire more traffic you need to be in front of more people.  Domains are just a part of it though. After all, the more domain names you posses the more listings in the search engines you will have. (Five different domain names means five separate ranking for the same business) This means that more and more people have the potential to come across your business when they plug in their favorite keywords into Google or Yahoo,

Developing A Larger Presence
This does not mean, however, that you need to publish a completely new website for each domain name either. Often, you can simply have the domain redirect to your business’ primary home page. Simply purchasing domain names related to subsets of your business can work wonders for expanding the volume of traffic your site receives. For example, if you are operating a website that is selling fishing equipment you can have one domain name for saltwater fishing, one for freshwater fishing, one for international fishing trips, one for deep sea fishing, etc. This way, your online business will start to develop a larger presence on the web than it would with only one single domain name.

A Strategy That Pays Many Dividends
Best of all, many domain names can be purchased quit inexpensively as there are always special offers floating about for cheap domain name purchases and registrations. I usually pay around $9.00 for a domain name, and I am constantly dreaming up names that I purchase for future use. That is why the multiple domain name strategy pays so many dividends – it is an effective strategy that comes with little cost and lots of rewards.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

Profiting from Viral E-Books

Monday, July 28th, 2008

E-books Have Become One Of The Most Popular Ways To Pass Information
10 years ago, hardly anybody had ever heard of an e-book and they were quite a novelty.  Today, e-books have become one of the most convenient and popular ways to pass along information.  This is not only the case when it comes to hobby websites but it is also true for anybody that is involved in marketing on the Internet.  One of the more interesting ways that e-books are used is as a part of a viral marketing campaign.  Why are they so effective at doing this?

E-books Are Convenient To Pass Around

One of the reasons is because a lot of good information can be stuffed into a relatively small e-book.  If you provide good information to people, they will naturally want to pass it along so that others may benefit.  Not only do friends pass it on to friends but competing webmasters may actually pass it on to their visitors, opening up a whole new stream of traffic to your website.  Because an e-book creates a relatively small package, it is very convenient for people to pass around which makes it more likely that they will do so.

Use Good Information For Maximizing Your Success

The real key is to make sure that the information that you use is good enough that people will want to pass around naturally.  It may be necessary for you to get the process started by either offering it to your website visitors or perhaps even passing it around to those on your list.  Once the process starts, however, you will be surprised with how much of a mind of its own and actually begins to have.

Market E-books On A Regular Basis
Even though this is not the only way that you should be pulling traffic into your website, it is certainly something that you should be doing on a regular basis.  Make sure that you leave yourself time to write an e-book soon, you will be happy with the amount of traffic that it can send you.

Two Things Your Website Needs to Keep Your Visitors Coming Back

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Having a continual stream of new visitors coming to your webpage is something that every webmaster strives to have.  If you’re spending all of your time working on getting new visitors and not spending much on the ones that you already have, you may be leaving a lot of money on the table.  In order for you to really thrive and to increase your bottom line considerably, you need to make sure that people are coming back to your website on a regular basis.  Here are two ways that you can do so effectively.

The first thing that you need to do is to make sure that you are putting new content onto your website on a regular basis.  People who are interested in what you have to say will bookmark your site and come back again to read your new information.  You can increase these numbers, however, by offering them the opportunity to join your newsletter.  These same people that enjoy what you are saying in the first place will be happy to sign up for your newsletter, especially if you give them a good reason to do so.  Whenever you add new content to your website, be it on a blog or a static webpage, you can send out a little teaser e-mail to them to pull them back to your website again.

Another thing that you can do in order to get a lot of people to come to your website on a regular basis is to add a niche forum.  Although, in my opinion, forums are a lot of work to maintain and moderate, forums are a great way for you to express yourself within a community of like-minded individuals.  It also has an excellent way for you to get almost immediate feedback on anything that you have to say.  Owning a forum can bring people back your website on a regular basis and even help you to get inside of their mind in order to brainstorm product creation.  The best part is, once a forum gets started, it often has a mind of its own and it grows on a continual basis. If you have the time, forums can be a great way to really increase your customer base. I can think of many successful forums, can you?

Until next time, great success in all you do!

How Do We Get More Traffic?

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

There are a plethora of ways to get more traffic, but most are very inefficient in the amount of time and money you spend in return for the amount of quality traffic you will receive. Generating traffic is one of the key functions to my Internet Business equation: Success = Product + Marketing + Traffic.

Over the years, I have found that it is more effective to drive traffic to your site that is already on the Internet rather than to persuade someone who is offline e.g. listening to the radio, reading a newspaper or magazine, or watching television. Don’t get me wrong, offline advertising works to drive traffic, but it is not as effective or efficient as online advertising with respect to the amount of time and money you spend.

Secondly, generating online traffic interchanges with inbound links and also interchanges with site ranking with the major search engines. In other words, traffic is the same as links, is the same as ranking. You can work with any of those three and generate results in the other two categories! If you succeed in building links to your site, you will succeed in driving traffic and increase your site ranking. Same analogy goes for the other two categories.

So, based on all this we MUST comprehend that our primary goal should be in the way of building links, in order to build traffic, in order to build ranking. Why again? ..because search engines understand this type of relation for you to benefit from!

Well then, what are the best ways (most effective and efficient) of building links to your site?

There are many ways of building links, but I have found basically three methods that outproduce the rest for building links:

1. Directly asking for them from other site owners, a/k/a link building.

2. Article Submission or, a/k/a Article Marketing.

3. Creating Content Sites.

Which is the best method of the three?

Unfortunately, link building takes some time to see any real results. Article marketing will produce immediate results, but you are somewhat limited to the amount of time and directories you can submit to in a given period. The last method, “Creating Content Sites”, is the most powerful method of generating links = traffic = ranking, over the long run with your site. It never withers away. You’ve heard of the phrase “Content is King!”? It’s true. It is the number one secret method on the Internet that billion dollar companies use to their advantage. They generate huge amounts of traffic by creating tons of free, quality, and useful content.

Why do you read my blog?, why do you read other blogs?, Have you told others about these blogs you read? Get the picture? When you have a site that produces good content it turns into a “snowball effect” and your traffic builds, therefore your links and rankings will too.

Secret #2

Unlike my blog, the big billion dollar companies don’t create their own content!

They get YOU to create it for them, now that’s what I’m talk’in about. Slap up a website and have my visitors create most or all of the content. What else could you ask for?

Let me throw out a few names so you can understand what I mean…

1. Google.com - The entire search engine is primarily built on your content!

2. Yahoo.com - They started with a lot of user generated content.

3. MSN.com - Very similar to Yahoo.

4. Ebay.com - The auction pages are entirely created by their visitors.

5. Amazon.com - All the content is created by publishers and visitors submitting reviews.

6. Craigslist.com - All classifieds are created by visitors.

OK, I think you get the picture. The big, the huge, the massive billion dollar sites on the Internet recognize and employ the tremendous strength of user generated content!

That is what the tool I am going to launch tomorrow July 17, 2008 at 12 noon is all about. Creating content sites that your users create (plus a special little feature you won’t want to miss) and happily submit it to you so you can sit back like a billion dollar site and watch your sites grow! In part 2, I’m going to tell you what to do with that content in order to propel traffic to your product or sales sites.

What is the purest form of content on the Internet today?

You guessed it, the simple ole article! It is what you’re reading right this instance. It’s what you read when you visit MSN, CNN or Yahoo news. You read it in the morning in the form of a newspaper. You read it in a magazine. You read it all over the web. Everyone knows and understands the article. This is where it all starts.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

Three Tips for Viral Traffic Generation

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

Up until recent times, a virus was always considered to be a bad thing.  Viruses make us sick or they harm our computers, depending on the type that you’re talking about.  Recently, a new type of virus has become available which can benefit you as a webmaster in a lot of different ways.  I’m not talking about manipulating other people’s computers, I’m talking about the viral marketing effect and how much traffic it can send you if it is done correctly.  Here are three different ways that you can use this marketing magic to pull in mass traffic.

Viral E-Books - E-books give you the opportunity to pull a lot of traffic into your website for free if they are used properly.  All you really need to do is to give excellent information within the e-book that is of interest to those who are also interested in what you have on your website.  It may take a little bit of a push at first in order to get things going but e-books are so easy for people to pass around that they soon began to come to life on their own.

Electronic Cards - Here is something that has been done for quite some time online but it is still very effective in pulling in a lot of traffic.  By having greeting cards on your website along with other pages which people enjoy passing around, you would be surprised at the amount of traffic which will show up to your website.  The real secret in using this viral marketing method is having pages that are unique enough that people will find them worthy to pass along.

Videos - This is one of the newcomers to the Internet, especially since video sharing websites have become popular such as Youtube.  If you put together a video that is on topic with your niche, you would be surprised with the number of people who will watch it and pass it around.  Even if the video that you create flops, it is easy to create another one and give it another go.  Make sure that you include your URL at the beginning and the end of the video and sit back to enjoy the incoming traffic.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

Causing a Stir with Video Marketing

Monday, July 7th, 2008

Working on the Internet provides us with a rather volatile environment.  Things tend to change on a regular basis and we need to make sure that we are changing along with them or at least rolling with the punches in order to stay alive.  It is also true that there are some things that have worked for many years on the Internet, such as article marketing and will continue to work it into the foreseeable future.  Every once in a while, however, something new comes along and we need to grab the opportunity while it is there.

One newcomer to the Internet marketing scene is video marketing and you would be surprised with the amount of traffic that you can receive if you do it successfully.  Online video sharing websites have come of age and they boast some of the highest traffic numbers of any websites on the Internet.  You can pull some of this traffic over to your domain if you create on topic videos that are worthy of being passed around.

The fact of the matter is, you don’t need to have an award-winning video in order for it to gain an amazing amount of popularity.  A simple slide show of photographs with some music and a good message is often all that is needed in order to get the traffic flowing.  The real secret comes in putting up several videos because you never know when one is going to take off and a viral effect will take over.

One thing that you want to make sure you are including with every video is a link back to your website.  It won’t be a clickable link but it will be something that people will be able to type into their browser in order to give you a visit.  If your video is interesting enough, you would be surprised with the amount of traffic that it will actually produce.  This is some of the easiest traffic that you will ever receive, make sure that you take advantage of it on a regular basis.

Guest Blogging on Popular Blogs

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

If you are new to blogging, there are surely a number of successful blogs that you admire. These admired blogs probably have significant readership. More than likely, you probably wish you could have a portion of their readership. Well, such a wish can be facilitated. There is a way you can have a portion of such a blog’s readership. You simply need to tap into the huge volume of traffic this blog possesses. And, yes, there is a way and it comes in the form of guest blogging.

As the title of this article indicates, you would simply write a blog entry for the popular blog. Ok, perhaps we are making this sound a little easier than it is. You simply can’t post a blog entry on someone else’s blog unless they give you a green light. The thing is some of these popular blogs will give you a green light to write for them. These blogs would be those that accept unsolicited submissions from readers. If you come across such a blog and have an article that would pique their interest they might be inclined to publish your blog submission. Of course, you would add a link to your own blog at the end of your article. Usually, this would be placed in a brief bio of the guest blogger. (”To read more from AUTHOR check out BLOG URL)  A free link would be a fair trade off for an excellent blog article. Of course, your article would have to be very interesting and well written to be accepted but that is a given.

Now, you do not have to direct traffic to a blog. You could also send it to a website you publish or any other online venue that your are promoting. But, if the link directs itself to a site that is a wee bit overly commercial (”Get paid to fill out surveys!”) you may find your link nixed. Just use a little common sense in this regard and things will work out fine.
