Your Finished With Submitting Articles, Now What?

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

Last time I talked about “When Should You Start A PPC Marketing Campaign?”  I just want to expand on that a little further today.

Each week you should be continually working on driving traffic to your sites(s).  You should have a plan to at least use Blog Carnivals and Article Submission. These are two of my best free sources of generating traffic. I know when I stop performing these tasks my traffic slows down and my rankings start heading the other way.

Obviously, these tasks do not take all week to perform. So, what else can you do to drive traffic once your finished with submitting articles? One of the next best things is to start a PPC marketing campaign.

PPC marketing is a paid source of traffic generation, and it can be real costly if you don’t know what your doing.  I highly suggest that you make it a point in your Internet Business career to learn PPC marketing before you just jump right in.

If you want to learn about PPC marketing, there certainly are no shortcuts you can take. You MUST put the time in, moving your way up the learning curve. Don’t get discouraged, it is going to take work! Everything related to a successful Internet Business is going to take work and it’s not going to be easy. Please don’t think that it is going to be a piece of cake like so many marketers out there painting this grand picture. That is not reality.

Luckily, to your advantage, everything you need to be successful with PPC marketing is free. All of the big 3 PPC engines, Google, Yahoo, and MSN have excellent tutorial and learning centers for you to gain extensive knowledge and catapult yourself past GO.  If you go through each of these step-by-step, you will then know more than 95% of the PPC’ers out there.

Google

Yahoo

MSN

If your serious about getting involved with PPC marketing or you’ve tried, but were not successful and gave up. Try these tutorials and make a concerted effort to learn.  PPC marketing is a great tool to have at your side for driving traffic to your own site(s) or to use for affiliate marketing.

Speaking of tools, here is a link to a great PPC tracking software, free of course. It’s called Prosper202 and Tracking202.  Prosper202 is a self-hosted version for big time marketers and Tracking202 is perfect for everyday PPC marketers.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

When Should You Start a PPC Marketing Campaign?

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

It doesn’t matter if your website is brand-new or if it has been around for quite some time, the question of when to start a PPC marketing campaign always exists.  Of course, most of us realize that free traffic is the best traffic to receive and it can work quite well if we are able to keep it on target.  There is still something intriguing about paying for traffic and there are many benefits that can be had for doing it.  The real secret comes in knowing when to strike and when to stop striking.

People with new websites often use a little bit of PPC marketing in order to get immediate traffic and to test such things as sales copy and the effectiveness of their website design.  Although this certainly can be effective and work quite well, you should make sure that you understand the PPC marketing system before you dive in with both feet.  Not only will you be able to save a lot of money with your marketing efforts by understanding the ins and outs of it but you may just save yourself from going broke in the process.  More than one person has lost a lot of money in PPC marketing before they understood exactly how to use it effectively.

If your website has been up for quite some time and the numbers seem to be going stale, you can breathe a little bit of life into it with a PPC marketing campaign.  If you are mixing free traffic along with paid traffic, you should make sure that you are testing the effectiveness of each individual ad.  After all, making money from your overall PPC campaign is one thing but being able to distinguish the winners from the losers is where the real profit lies.  Take the extra time that is necessary to have this tracking in place.  You would be surprised with what an eye-opening experience it really is.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

Salvaging PPC Visitors

Monday, April 28th, 2008

If there was a complaint that many who sell products through Pay Per Click marketing it would be the fact that visitors click on the ads but don’t purchase. Of course, the advertiser will be charged a fee whenever someone clicks on an ad. So, if the bulk of the people who click opt not to buy PPC marketing can turn into a money drain. Well, it can be a money drain if the seller does not seek a failsafe method to cover their potential losses.  Plus the fact, when I first started with PPC adverstising my lack of knowledge knowing when to cut my losses sucked my bank roll dry like a Hoover on steroids.

Wait a second….let’s get something straight here….there will be NO LOSSES if you have a back up plan for those who do not purchase right there on the spot.

So, here is a back up plan: use the traffic to the site from a PPC strategy for list building. That is, your website should always solicit email addresses for updates, sales, discounts, etc. This way, if the person does not purchase on the spot they can always be marketed later. If the person is interested in your site and your services a sale may be around the corner as opposed to a purchase made right on the spot.

This is really a standard practice that should be implemented in evrything you do online.  Make sure everyone that ends up at your site(s) either have to fill in some type of form with their name and email address.   Either through a site entrance form or with some type of offering.

While it may sound like a cliché of a cliché, the fact remains that any negative situation can be spun into a positive with a little creativity. No sales? No problem! Just build a list for later sales. This can turn a negative into a positive and salvage some of those costs associated with a PPC campaign. Remember, anytime someone clicks on your PPC links they are potential customers. So use the opportunity to build email lists for your internet business.

Until next time, great success in all you do!
