Be Flexible To Be Successful In Your Internet Business

Monday, April 7th, 2008

Hi All,

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

Nothing ever stays still anymore especially with all the new technology that is available in today’s world. Nobody can go anywhere without thier iPods, cell phones with bluetooth and the GPS’s to go to the same office that they have gone to for the last ten years. And when a new version or upgrade is available, people rush out and get it to stay up with the Jones’.

Now if people would do that with their Internet business, they may be a lot more successful. Let me explain a little. There are people out there on the Internet that take it upon themselves to beat the search engines and try to defeat them at all costs. They are called Black Hatters and try every little dirty trick to gain any advantage, but actually these guys are OK because they are flexible and try new things and their little tricks help us change too.

But there are a lot of people who have Internet business that set up their website or blog, but do nothing to keep up with the Jones’ and while they may stick around for awhile, eventually they will fall by the wayside and become yardsale fodder.  So, take it upon yourself to keep changing whether it be with the latest software update, reading SEO news daily or getting the newest tool to help you. Remember be flexible, always.

Turn Bad News Into Profits For Your Internet Business

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

As many Internet marketers and online business people struggle to find a niche that is perfect for them, most of them ignore what is right in front of their noses every single day. All you have to do is go to Yahoo, MSN or your nightly news and read the headlines and there is your niche!

It sounds simple, but timing is everything. You have to be right on top of the news break and take action right away. I read an article on a recent event that took place that one person took advantage of and it paid off.

If you recall, a certain political leader from the state of New York was caught in a scandal that involved a call girl and this person was one of the first to get articles, a website with affiliate links, pictures and info out on this call girl and boy did she reap the rewards. She said her normal website traffic is around 25,000 hits a day and it went up to 1.5 million within hours of getting listed in Google and that she made about 8-9 months income in one day. Wow!

So, now the question is, is it right to make money off of someone else’s misfortune? I say no, but in this certain situation I think it was done correctly. The subject of the website was directed towards the call girl, who chose this profession, therefore this was not an attack on her unlike directing toward the ill fated ex-Gov who was caught cheating, letting his family and all of the people of New York state down and is now out of a job. Celebrity gossip is is a huge field, but be careful how far you take it.

So the next time you see some breaking news coming on the nightly news, get off your duff and take advantage of it and make some money. Thanks for stopping and will see you next time.

Finding Your Niche Market

Monday, January 7th, 2008

I hope that your New Year is going well so far and thanks for visiting CraigSAndrews.com to help bring your Internet business to a new level. Today I want to talk about niche marketing and how to find one.

To find your niche market, I think we first have to define what a niche market is. A niche market is a focused part of a larger market or group. For example if the larger market is “Dog Training”, then the niche market may be “How to train your dog to sit” or “How to train your dog to stop barking”. Each of these niches fall under the broader topic, but are much more isolated and targeted than the larger market.

Now that we know what niche marketing is, how can we find ours? Is there just one or maybe two? Or, are there hundreds that we can do? I believe that there are as many as you want and with due diligence, you can determine if a niche is for you or not. So what criteria should you use to help you select a niche market? The following are the top qualifiers in selecting a niche market:

You’re the Expert - It does help to know something about the niche that you are trying to sell to the whole world, but if you are an expert or really passionate about your niche, then this will definitely show when you go to develop and promote this niche. If you are not an expert, but the niche looks very good and profitable to you, then become an expert.

Demand - Once you know something about the niche you are researching. it is time to see if there is a demand for it or not. If there is too little demand, you will not make any money. If there is too much demand for your niche, then you will be fighting like cats and dogs with everyone else for that one sale.

Do a quick search on Google and see how many results are returned for your search. I try to shoot for a return of under 100,000 or even 50,000 to start of with. So, if your results are in the millions, then narrow your topic down. With results under 100,000, this niche is a good starting point.

For example, do a search on Google for “how to lift weights” and the results are 1,180,000. A little to big for our needs at this moment, but nice to see that there is some interest in this area though. Now search for “weightlifting to strengthen back” and you will see the results are 21,700. A nice, small number of “competitors” that you can now start making a move at with your “niche market”.

Now go to Wordtracker.com and see what keywords may go with your new niche and copy them down. Wordtracker is a great tool to help you see how many have been or to predict how many times the keyword may be used in the search engines.

Promote and Sell - This is the biggie. Once you have found a niche market, is there stuff out there to sell with? Are there enough affiliate programs to use to make a useful website or informative blog? Can you make enough material to sell an E-book or “Special Report” on your niche? If no, then it is time to find another niche. If yes, then it is time to get to work and to promote and sell this niche.

If you can add a spin on your niche market and make it different and unique compared to others, this will make you standout from your competition and be very successful. Remember that CraigSAndrews.com has very helpful tools such as Blogging for Profit and Fun and Article Pro Software to help make your website or blog the best on the web!

Remember don’t fall in love with a niche so badly that it clouds your judgement and you end up waisting your time and money. This is by far only a rough idea of how to find a niche that I use. If you have other ways that you use, it would be great to hear from you so please leave a comment on your technique.
