Hi Everyone,

Well I’m sure your getting your share of blog posts relating to reviews of the past year and how great it was for all the bloggers out there. Yes it was a great year for me too, and I learned many new things. My greatest success this past year has to be the in-depth knowledge I received relating to all the aspects of managing an Internet Business as a whole package. Aspects ranging from market research, article marketing, blogging, keyword optimization, SEO, content management, PPC and Adwords, Social Strategies, Affiliate Marketing, Outsourcing, ect., and how they intertwine together to build a more successful Internet Business.

I was pretty well educated in all these areas already, but I honestly made a concerted effort to educate myself even more this past year to be better and my goal was to rise above the rest. The more I know, the more resourceful I can be, and the more I can educate and teach you, which this blog is all about.  I definitely made a major advancement in all fields relating to Internet Business operations, and I know my growth this year has been the greatest since I began.

So, enough about me. I want to hear about you! Please let me know what was a major breakthrough or success in your Internet Business for the past year. Please leave a comment at the end of this post and enlighten our readers with some useful knowledge that we can all benefit from. I will review them and pick the one that I feel was the best of 2008. Brilliant Strategy
There are a number of uses for a blog. Some may opt to use their blog as a way to muse their philosophical thoughts. Others may use it as a forum to present news on a multitude of subjects. Then, there are the savvy individuals who use blogs as a means of marketing. Such a strategy is a brilliant one because an internet marketing blog can work wonders for promoting a product or service and increasing sales. Best of all, this type of marketing strategy can be employed without significant expense.

For the uninitiated, an internet marketing blog seeks to promote a product, service or website to blog readers in a creative and entertaining manner. While the purpose of the blog is promotional, the blog’s content can stand on its own as entertaining or informative. This is what separates a solid internet marketing blog from a “spam” blog.

Specifically, a spam blog is a blog that contains very little text or illustrations. It is mostly links and brief promotional blurbs for whatever it is the blog is hawking. While such blogs are common they really are not all that effective. Yes, these types of blogs may attract incidental traffic but the results are more or less inconsequential. Spam blogs are not the way to go if you are serious about internet marketing. There are much better options available instead. These better options come in the form of a more creative blog.

If you wish to utilize the internet marketing blog concept, it is always critical to have a blog that provides some entertainment value. This will make the blog noticeable and enjoyable. That will aid in building an interested audience which will, of course, contribute to the blog’s primary objective: successfully marketing a product or service. Obviously, this would be a good thing and that is why internet marketing blogs are so popular.

I just wanted to share a little piece of a great Christmas story lesson I remember from past.  It is about Who will wear the crown in your life? Your own selfishness or will you let Jesus. If you were to look at a yard stick, the first 1/4 inch represents your life here on earth. The rest of the yard stick represents your eternity in the life after.  So Who will wear the crown?

I hope everyone is having a great Christmas!  I was up early with my son who is now almost three, and is understanding Christmas a little more this year. Although, he was “ehcited” for Santa to come, he kept saying he was scared.  Well, he didn’t have to worry because Santa came while he was sleeping and some cookies and milk too!  MMMmmmm good.

However your spending your Christmas, I hope you have a great one, and the real spirit of Christmas touches your heart.

The Internet is Not Restricted
If anything, internet marketing ideas are always innovative. This is the main reason why internet commerce has grown so significantly in recent years. Marketing strategies are constantly evolving and taking on new forms. This gives the internet a huge advantage over, say, television which is limited primarily to commercials. The internet is not restricted in such a manner.

The new internet marketing strategy that is frequently being employed is the viral marketing campaign. While on the surface this sounds like a “new fangled” strategy, it is actually a new spin on a very old strategy. And when we say old, we mean OLD. That is, a viral marketing campaign is little more than a new version of the first advertising concept ever devised: word of mouth.

A viral marketing campaign involves the innovative use of a social networking site. Essentially, this campaign revolves around convincing the members of your network to converse about (and promote) your product or service to other members. Since they do this out of their own volition, it can not truly be considered spamming or hard selling. Since such a marketing strategy centers on a personal recommendation, it can be very effective.

Here is a common example of a simple viral marketing campaign: if you are promoting membership in a network marketing program, you can devise a video clip promoting the merits of your network. You can then email it to four people on your social networking site. Then, ask them to forward it to four other people they know. If they do this, 16 more people will view your promotional video. Hopefully, the video will continue to spread raising awareness of your business venture. If this occurs then your viral marketing campaign is succeeding quite well as far as raising awareness goes.

Of course, you do not have to be limited by only using video files. Your viral marketing campaign can be as creative or innovative as you wish. Hopefully, whatever method you employ will work out to your significant advantage.

Blogging Domination
When the concept of blogging for profit was devised, the world of blogging changed forever. This is because the hobby of blogging has become a former hobby for some. Instead, it is now a profession for them. Clearly, the positive aspects of this are significant. The ability to draw an income from blogging has allowed many quality writers to become involved in blogging. This increases the volume of valuable writing on the internet which makes for a better blogosphere overall. However, blogging for profit does have its critics although some of the criticism is not necessarily valid.

Whether the method of blogging to profit involves direct ad placement, pay per click advertisements, or affiliate marketing some feel the inclusion of revenue streams is not a good thing. The sentiment here is that blogging for profit undermines the original “from the heart” nature of blogging. While such critics are entitled to their opinion, such an opinion does very little to improve the overall health of the blogosphere. After all, all forms of media are profit driven including the new media. And, yes, this is a good thing!

It is also something that is not exactly a new concept. The movie, television, newspaper, and radio industry are all “for profit” ventures. If they weren’t then the media industry would disappear overnight.  Yet, there are traditionalists who feel the same model is a bad idea for bloggers. Actually, the opposite is true: blogging for profit is the best thing to ever happen to blogging!

In actuality, anything that strengthens an industry is a good thing. Additionally, anything that strengthens the infrastructure of an industry is a good thing as well. Blogging for profit serves both of these goals and that is a huge positive since it benefits bloggers, internet commerce, and the overall global economy as a result.

There Is Only One Type Of Traffic you Want!
There’s traffic and then there’s targeted traffic. While both deliver visitors to a website only one of them delivers the type of traffic that you want. Obviously, it is the latter, targeted traffic that a website really wants. Targeted traffic is essentially comprised of visitors who fit very specific demographics. These demographics will include those people who are most beneficial to the website. For commercial websites, targeted traffic is absolutely critical for success because visitors who have a higher chance of becoming customers are what make the website successful. Those visitors who are not likely to become customers are not entirely helpful for the fiscal success of the website.

Far too often, website publishers will embark on a traffic building strategy that centers on acquiring traffic from anywhere and everywhere. The notion here is that all traffic is good traffic. So, they will place or purchase links all over the web. This will deliver traffic but a lot of the traffic will not necessarily be interested in whatever it is the website is offering. For example, if a website sells knitting supplies and is placing links on sporting goods websites then the odds of these links delivering direct traffic interested in knitting will be minimal. However, links placed on hobby sites associated with knitting would deliver the proper targeted traffic a website needs to be successful.

Now, some may argue that massive link building that pays no attention to targeted traffic can still be valuable a far as search engine rankings. This is partially correct. Honestly, all links that you place on the internet might count towards boosting search engine rankings. If there is an obvious similarity between the subject matter of the website where the link is placed and where the website the link directs to then the impact on the search engines will be positive. If there is no relationship, the link may or may not count towards search engine rankings. Really, non-targeted links are a toss up. That is why it is always best to stick with targeted link building strategies and targeted traffic plans.
