How to Kill Your Article Marketing Efforts in Two Easy Steps

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Article Marketing Is One Of The Best Ways To Pull Traffic
There’s no doubt that article marketing is one of the best ways to pull traffic into your website on a regular basis. There are some things that you should make sure that you are doing in order to maximize the benefits that you are going to receive. If you neglect doing these things, you will not only be disappointed with your article marketing efforts, you may actually be discouraged enough to give up altogether. Here are a few things that you can do to kill your article marketing, so make sure that you aren’t doing them.

Use A Good Title
The first thing that you can do which will spell disaster for your article marketing is to use a lackluster title. Whenever a person searches on Google or any of the other search engines and ends up seeing your article listed, the title is what is going to show up. If you don’t have a good article title which entices people to click on the link, you are going to be sending a lot of people away to the next link on the list. Make sure that your article title is working for you, not against you.

Write A Good Biography
Another thing that many people do with their articles is to write a very bad biography. The biography is where you are able to leave a link back to your website and do a little bit of self-promotion. Most of them read something like “Bob has been raising gerbils for 15 years”. Let me give you a little tip. Even if your article was about gerbils, nobody really cares about your involvement. Entice them to your website with good copy because if you bore them with details that they don’t care about, they aren’t going to click on your link.

Pay Attention To Every Part Of Your Article
Although there are a lot of little things that you can do wrong with your articles, these two things will result in far less traffic to your website in the long run. Make sure that you pay attention to every part of the article and you will benefit as a result.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

Profiting from Viral E-Books

Monday, July 28th, 2008

E-books Have Become One Of The Most Popular Ways To Pass Information
10 years ago, hardly anybody had ever heard of an e-book and they were quite a novelty.  Today, e-books have become one of the most convenient and popular ways to pass along information.  This is not only the case when it comes to hobby websites but it is also true for anybody that is involved in marketing on the Internet.  One of the more interesting ways that e-books are used is as a part of a viral marketing campaign.  Why are they so effective at doing this?

E-books Are Convenient To Pass Around

One of the reasons is because a lot of good information can be stuffed into a relatively small e-book.  If you provide good information to people, they will naturally want to pass it along so that others may benefit.  Not only do friends pass it on to friends but competing webmasters may actually pass it on to their visitors, opening up a whole new stream of traffic to your website.  Because an e-book creates a relatively small package, it is very convenient for people to pass around which makes it more likely that they will do so.

Use Good Information For Maximizing Your Success

The real key is to make sure that the information that you use is good enough that people will want to pass around naturally.  It may be necessary for you to get the process started by either offering it to your website visitors or perhaps even passing it around to those on your list.  Once the process starts, however, you will be surprised with how much of a mind of its own and actually begins to have.

Market E-books On A Regular Basis
Even though this is not the only way that you should be pulling traffic into your website, it is certainly something that you should be doing on a regular basis.  Make sure that you leave yourself time to write an e-book soon, you will be happy with the amount of traffic that it can send you.

Two Things Your Website Needs to Keep Your Visitors Coming Back

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Having a continual stream of new visitors coming to your webpage is something that every webmaster strives to have.  If you’re spending all of your time working on getting new visitors and not spending much on the ones that you already have, you may be leaving a lot of money on the table.  In order for you to really thrive and to increase your bottom line considerably, you need to make sure that people are coming back to your website on a regular basis.  Here are two ways that you can do so effectively.

The first thing that you need to do is to make sure that you are putting new content onto your website on a regular basis.  People who are interested in what you have to say will bookmark your site and come back again to read your new information.  You can increase these numbers, however, by offering them the opportunity to join your newsletter.  These same people that enjoy what you are saying in the first place will be happy to sign up for your newsletter, especially if you give them a good reason to do so.  Whenever you add new content to your website, be it on a blog or a static webpage, you can send out a little teaser e-mail to them to pull them back to your website again.

Another thing that you can do in order to get a lot of people to come to your website on a regular basis is to add a niche forum.  Although, in my opinion, forums are a lot of work to maintain and moderate, forums are a great way for you to express yourself within a community of like-minded individuals.  It also has an excellent way for you to get almost immediate feedback on anything that you have to say.  Owning a forum can bring people back your website on a regular basis and even help you to get inside of their mind in order to brainstorm product creation.  The best part is, once a forum gets started, it often has a mind of its own and it grows on a continual basis. If you have the time, forums can be a great way to really increase your customer base. I can think of many successful forums, can you?

Until next time, great success in all you do!

Warming People Up With Article Marketing

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

Most people that have been involved in Internet marketing for at least a little while understand the power of article marketing.  It is something that has been done successfully for quite a few years and it certainly shows no end of slowing down in the future.  Although it certainly is possible for you to put the articles on your own website in order to attract traffic, most people like to start out posting them on other websites in order to piggyback on the existing success that they enjoy.

The real secret to article marketing is to write an article that has some decent content but leaves the people wanting more in some way or another.  Some people like to do this by posting articles in two different parts, the first one on the article directory and then inviting them to read the second one on their website.  This is an excellent way for you to be able to pull people over to your site and can be used as a catalyst for newsletter subscribers, regular blog readers and a number of other benefits.

Another way that you can warm people up with your article marketing is by pre-selling them on whatever it is that you have to offer.  For example, if you are offering some kind of a service, such as search engine optimization, you could warn the people up with your article by explaining to them exactly how a good search engine optimization expert will help their online business.  After that, it is a simple matter of directing them to your website with good copy and a link.  Do this successfully and you would be surprised with the number of people who will actually follow it to your website.

Writing cold articles is a sure fire way to get people to activate their back button and leave forever.  Make sure that you are always warming them up with your articles in some way or another and you will be happy with the results that you achieve.Until next time, great success in all you do!

Is a Link Just a Link?

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

First off, If you were one of the many lucky ones to pick up Article Pro Directory at the special price offer the other day, I am going to add a couple of strategies that I use to the email series instead of following up with Part 2 of “How Do We Get More Traffic”.  I feel it better suited for the customers of Article Pro Directory to have privilege to this information then to make it public here on this blog.

Lets get started with today’s information…
Whenever the Internet was very young, it was possible to get a link from any website in any fashion and it would benefit you as far as search engine optimization was concerned.  As a matter of fact, it was common practice in those days for webmasters to exchange links with each other, both out of courtesy and to help them rank for specific keywords.  Eventually, however, that practice became abused to a large extent and Google began to ignore it almost completely.  Does that mean that linking is dead?

The fact of the matter is, links are still a very important part of making sure that you rank well in the search engines.  Even though the rules have changed to a certain extent, getting inbound links is one of the only ways that Google has to rate the popularity of your website.  On-page optimization factors still count to a certain extent but incoming links will account for the majority of off-page optimization and are what really carry the weight.

Unfortunately, it can be very difficult for you to get links into your website unless you become at least a little bit creative.  Some people still spend a lot of time asking for links from other webmasters, and this does work to a certain extent but most people find that they are spinning their wheels at best.  If you really want a link from a certain website and can’t get it through conventional means, perhaps you can add a link to it yourself.

Instead of wasting your time looking for links all over the place, start gaining quality links by offering to write unique content for their website in exchange for a link within the content.  Most webmasters recognize the benefits of adding unique content to their website and if you can give them something that they need, you would be surprised with how quickly they will agree.  It benefits everybody that is involved, them with unique content and you with an incoming link that will boost your rankings.

How Do We Get More Traffic?

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

There are a plethora of ways to get more traffic, but most are very inefficient in the amount of time and money you spend in return for the amount of quality traffic you will receive. Generating traffic is one of the key functions to my Internet Business equation: Success = Product + Marketing + Traffic.

Over the years, I have found that it is more effective to drive traffic to your site that is already on the Internet rather than to persuade someone who is offline e.g. listening to the radio, reading a newspaper or magazine, or watching television. Don’t get me wrong, offline advertising works to drive traffic, but it is not as effective or efficient as online advertising with respect to the amount of time and money you spend.

Secondly, generating online traffic interchanges with inbound links and also interchanges with site ranking with the major search engines. In other words, traffic is the same as links, is the same as ranking. You can work with any of those three and generate results in the other two categories! If you succeed in building links to your site, you will succeed in driving traffic and increase your site ranking. Same analogy goes for the other two categories.

So, based on all this we MUST comprehend that our primary goal should be in the way of building links, in order to build traffic, in order to build ranking. Why again? ..because search engines understand this type of relation for you to benefit from!

Well then, what are the best ways (most effective and efficient) of building links to your site?

There are many ways of building links, but I have found basically three methods that outproduce the rest for building links:

1. Directly asking for them from other site owners, a/k/a link building.

2. Article Submission or, a/k/a Article Marketing.

3. Creating Content Sites.

Which is the best method of the three?

Unfortunately, link building takes some time to see any real results. Article marketing will produce immediate results, but you are somewhat limited to the amount of time and directories you can submit to in a given period. The last method, “Creating Content Sites”, is the most powerful method of generating links = traffic = ranking, over the long run with your site. It never withers away. You’ve heard of the phrase “Content is King!”? It’s true. It is the number one secret method on the Internet that billion dollar companies use to their advantage. They generate huge amounts of traffic by creating tons of free, quality, and useful content.

Why do you read my blog?, why do you read other blogs?, Have you told others about these blogs you read? Get the picture? When you have a site that produces good content it turns into a “snowball effect” and your traffic builds, therefore your links and rankings will too.

Secret #2

Unlike my blog, the big billion dollar companies don’t create their own content!

They get YOU to create it for them, now that’s what I’m talk’in about. Slap up a website and have my visitors create most or all of the content. What else could you ask for?

Let me throw out a few names so you can understand what I mean…

1. Google.com - The entire search engine is primarily built on your content!

2. Yahoo.com - They started with a lot of user generated content.

3. MSN.com - Very similar to Yahoo.

4. Ebay.com - The auction pages are entirely created by their visitors.

5. Amazon.com - All the content is created by publishers and visitors submitting reviews.

6. Craigslist.com - All classifieds are created by visitors.

OK, I think you get the picture. The big, the huge, the massive billion dollar sites on the Internet recognize and employ the tremendous strength of user generated content!

That is what the tool I am going to launch tomorrow July 17, 2008 at 12 noon is all about. Creating content sites that your users create (plus a special little feature you won’t want to miss) and happily submit it to you so you can sit back like a billion dollar site and watch your sites grow! In part 2, I’m going to tell you what to do with that content in order to propel traffic to your product or sales sites.

What is the purest form of content on the Internet today?

You guessed it, the simple ole article! It is what you’re reading right this instance. It’s what you read when you visit MSN, CNN or Yahoo news. You read it in the morning in the form of a newspaper. You read it in a magazine. You read it all over the web. Everyone knows and understands the article. This is where it all starts.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

Making More Money with the Same Amount of Visitors

Monday, July 14th, 2008

All of us who are involved in Internet marketing realize that visitors equal sales.  As long as we have a constant stream of website visitors that are interested in what we have to offer, the sales will certainly follow.  For this reason, most people will constantly be trying to pull new people into their website in order to increase their bottom line.  Unfortunately, most of them fail to realize that it is possible for you to increase your bottom line without increasing your visitors at all.  All you need to do is make sure that you are selling successfully to the people that already visit.

This can be done in a number of different ways but a few of the most successful are testing your sales copy and improving it, running an online newsletter or autoresponder series and a simple trick that many people tend to overlook.  Any one of these can improve your visitor to sales ratio dramatically but a combination of all of them can give you the results that you are really looking for.

Sales copy is something that you should never be satisfied with.  Even if you have never written copy before, there are basic ways that you can continue to improve it in order to improve your sales.  If you’re not already split testing your sales copy and making small changes to see what kind of a difference it makes, you are simply leaving money on the table.  There are plenty of free split test scripts available for you to use.

If you have a website and are not giving them the opportunity to sign up for your newsletter or autoresponder series, you are inviting them to leave without ever coming back again.  The old saying is that the money is in the list and this is certainly a true statement.  Start collecting the e-mail addresses today from your visitors and find out exactly how true it is.

Finally, you may be missing out on some sales because you are not asking for them.  This is one aspect of Internet marketing that many people tend to overlook.  Don’t be afraid to let them know that you have something to offer them which will benefit them in one way or another.  Ask for the sale and you would be surprised with how many people will take you up on the offer.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

How To Gain Internet Success Without Work!

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Internet Business Success

Before we begin, a few weeks ago I talked about a tool I created, and I have been using it to continually grow content on my sites. I recently started using this tool a few weeks ago on one of my sites, and so far it has moved from page 34 on Google for a major keyword up to page 16. All this in a few weeks from implementing on one of my sites. That’s some pretty great results so far, and I’ll keep you posted on it’s progress as the weeks go on. This is one tool that really is an added value to your site, and I highly recommend it for your own Internet Business. We hope to have it ready for my blog readers by the end of next week with a special offer as always, so keep a lookout.

Ok, Today I’m going to tell you a few tips on how to gain Internet Success with basically no work on your part :) Are you ready? Hee Hee

- If you have a website already, don’t do much with it. Remember, that will be work and we don’t want to do that.

- And whatever you do, don’t start up a blog. That would mean working several times a week making posts, and that would be way too hard.

- Sign up for all the free Internet Marketing stuff you can. Buy cheap tools and software too. You don’t have to use this stuff or read it, that’s going to cause work anyways. Just pile it on your computer! Maybe look at it once in awhile so you feel like your accomplishing something and gaining success.

- Be sure and spend a lot of time looking through all your emails. Especially the ones you get from all the free stuff you just downloaded. You should be getting plenty of emails from them by now. After several hours of browsing through your emails it’s time to take a break. Remember, we don’t want to work too much!

- Visit as many forums as you can, and contribute to them daily. Believe everything they say too. This will gain the fastest success without much work!

- Don’t sign up for my Blog announcements. Whoa! That would be way too much work. Not only that, you might learn a little something you can use. Then you would have to put that knowledge to use, and that would make more work. That would be nuts.

- Start up a PPC campaign without doing any research or putting any effort into learning all about it first. Just throw up a campaign or two, add some keywords, and put together a couple of ads. See, not much work involved. Kick back and watch the money pour in. Your almost there!

- If you put a couple of these tips to use, you certainly won’t have to work too much, and your success level will, well uh, I guess I’ll let you figure that one out.

Ok, I know this was a little facetious and I hope you found it a little funny, but honestly people you have to put in the work. Don’t get me wrong, some free stuff is good, but your going to have to invest in software, ebooks, and tools to have any real success. It’s going to take a monetary investment on your part. Visiting forums is good for gathering info and knowledge, but don’t become a forum junkie. Make sure you look at your emails at a non productive time that does not interfere with your productivity. Stay focused in all you do.

Please don’t get fooled by some of the the hype you read on how you can make a killing overnight. It’s just not going to happen like that 98% to 99% of the time.

When I first started I was working a full time job. I came home at night and spent a few hours with my family and then after everyone went to bed I worked on my business. Sometimes until 1 a.m., and then have to get up for work at 5:30. It was tough and slow going folks, but I was determined. I had some success, and I knew I could grow my business more.

I’ll still never forget the first day of class in High School with my one teacher Mr. Wright. The first day of his class I walked in and he had written all over the board in BIG letters the following saying from Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“Nothing Great Was Ever Achieved Without Enthusiasm”

How could anyone ever forget that? Even a kid in High School.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

Three Tips for Viral Traffic Generation

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

Up until recent times, a virus was always considered to be a bad thing.  Viruses make us sick or they harm our computers, depending on the type that you’re talking about.  Recently, a new type of virus has become available which can benefit you as a webmaster in a lot of different ways.  I’m not talking about manipulating other people’s computers, I’m talking about the viral marketing effect and how much traffic it can send you if it is done correctly.  Here are three different ways that you can use this marketing magic to pull in mass traffic.

Viral E-Books - E-books give you the opportunity to pull a lot of traffic into your website for free if they are used properly.  All you really need to do is to give excellent information within the e-book that is of interest to those who are also interested in what you have on your website.  It may take a little bit of a push at first in order to get things going but e-books are so easy for people to pass around that they soon began to come to life on their own.

Electronic Cards - Here is something that has been done for quite some time online but it is still very effective in pulling in a lot of traffic.  By having greeting cards on your website along with other pages which people enjoy passing around, you would be surprised at the amount of traffic which will show up to your website.  The real secret in using this viral marketing method is having pages that are unique enough that people will find them worthy to pass along.

Videos - This is one of the newcomers to the Internet, especially since video sharing websites have become popular such as Youtube.  If you put together a video that is on topic with your niche, you would be surprised with the number of people who will watch it and pass it around.  Even if the video that you create flops, it is easy to create another one and give it another go.  Make sure that you include your URL at the beginning and the end of the video and sit back to enjoy the incoming traffic.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

Causing a Stir with Video Marketing

Monday, July 7th, 2008

Working on the Internet provides us with a rather volatile environment.  Things tend to change on a regular basis and we need to make sure that we are changing along with them or at least rolling with the punches in order to stay alive.  It is also true that there are some things that have worked for many years on the Internet, such as article marketing and will continue to work it into the foreseeable future.  Every once in a while, however, something new comes along and we need to grab the opportunity while it is there.

One newcomer to the Internet marketing scene is video marketing and you would be surprised with the amount of traffic that you can receive if you do it successfully.  Online video sharing websites have come of age and they boast some of the highest traffic numbers of any websites on the Internet.  You can pull some of this traffic over to your domain if you create on topic videos that are worthy of being passed around.

The fact of the matter is, you don’t need to have an award-winning video in order for it to gain an amazing amount of popularity.  A simple slide show of photographs with some music and a good message is often all that is needed in order to get the traffic flowing.  The real secret comes in putting up several videos because you never know when one is going to take off and a viral effect will take over.

One thing that you want to make sure you are including with every video is a link back to your website.  It won’t be a clickable link but it will be something that people will be able to type into their browser in order to give you a visit.  If your video is interesting enough, you would be surprised with the amount of traffic that it will actually produce.  This is some of the easiest traffic that you will ever receive, make sure that you take advantage of it on a regular basis.

Like what you’ve read so far?  Then we encourage you to subscribe to our RSS feed.  The feed shows my latest Internet Business posts in full and can easily be viewed in your favorite news reader.
