Social Spark: Social Networking and Making Money Blogging

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Social Spark has arrived! Well, it is still in the development stages but in the near future it will revolutionize blogging. For those looking to make money blogging Social Spark (SocialSpark.com) is one of the new concepts in blog revenue generation. In fact, it is a unique and revolutionary concept that combines the very popular module of blogging with the extremely popular concept of social networking. Essentially, Social Spark is a social networking platform for bloggers with an emphasis on earning revenue. This is music to a blogging entrepreneur’s ears!

Social Spark has the potential to be hugely successful because it provides the two main items that blogs need to be successful: traffic and advertising revenue. When you create a profile on Social Spark you are creating a profile not for the purpose of self aggrandizement; you are creating a profile to promote the various blogs that you have crafted. From this, the ability to significantly boost traffic is made possible because you profile becomes your main promotional hub. Other members of the network stumble across your profile and then they stumble across your blog. Not a bad deal, eh? Then again, you do not have to rely exclusively on “stumbling”. You can aggressively promote your profile which would, of course, have the resultant effect of greatly expanding traffic to the site.

Best of all, Social Spark offers direct sponsorship of the blog. That is, members of Social Spark have access to advertisers who pay flat fees ($5 - $25) to place permanent ads on your blog as well as advertisement that pay a nominal daily fee for advertisement. This is a HUGE plus over pay per click advertisement because no one has to click on any ads in order to draw revenue. There is no conversion and that makes an affiliation with Social Spark for those who may not have the colossal traffic needed for huge PPC conversion rates. This, in and of itself, makes it a very attractive venture.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

Salvaging PPC Visitors

Monday, April 28th, 2008

If there was a complaint that many who sell products through Pay Per Click marketing it would be the fact that visitors click on the ads but don’t purchase. Of course, the advertiser will be charged a fee whenever someone clicks on an ad. So, if the bulk of the people who click opt not to buy PPC marketing can turn into a money drain. Well, it can be a money drain if the seller does not seek a failsafe method to cover their potential losses.  Plus the fact, when I first started with PPC adverstising my lack of knowledge knowing when to cut my losses sucked my bank roll dry like a Hoover on steroids.

Wait a second….let’s get something straight here….there will be NO LOSSES if you have a back up plan for those who do not purchase right there on the spot.

So, here is a back up plan: use the traffic to the site from a PPC strategy for list building. That is, your website should always solicit email addresses for updates, sales, discounts, etc. This way, if the person does not purchase on the spot they can always be marketed later. If the person is interested in your site and your services a sale may be around the corner as opposed to a purchase made right on the spot.

This is really a standard practice that should be implemented in evrything you do online.  Make sure everyone that ends up at your site(s) either have to fill in some type of form with their name and email address.   Either through a site entrance form or with some type of offering.

While it may sound like a cliché of a cliché, the fact remains that any negative situation can be spun into a positive with a little creativity. No sales? No problem! Just build a list for later sales. This can turn a negative into a positive and salvage some of those costs associated with a PPC campaign. Remember, anytime someone clicks on your PPC links they are potential customers. So use the opportunity to build email lists for your internet business.

Until next time, great success in all you do!

Adwords And The Titles To An Ad

Friday, April 25th, 2008

There are a lot of facets and components to successful Google Adwords marketing. If one maximizes these various components then an internet business may discover its profits skyrocketing. Perhaps this skyrocketing may not occur overnight but if consistent effort is made towards boosting one’s business then the end result of increased revenues is possible. Again, the success of an Adwords campaign is based on the sum of its part and one of the most important components is the title of the ad itself.

Consider the following two examples of a title:

“Link Directory Submission”

Vs.

“1000’s of Links – Directory Submission under $10″

Now, which title is going to catch a person’s eye? The generic title does little more than let people know what the purpose of the ad is. The second title provides a ton of information on the service being offered. Within the title the potential “clicker” is informed of the back that the link will be submitted to a huge volume of directories for a very low cost. Obviously, the latter will probably attract more people. It stands out, it is bold and it stresses the fact that the service is providing a deal.

Try to avoid, however, lame advertising catch phrasing like “amazing deal!” or “lowest prices on earth!” because such hyperbole is often overused and has a tendency to lead to disappointments. Of course, it also goes without saying that the title should not be a blatant mistruth. If the title promises something “with a catch” then you are not going to end up with very many conversions. So, do not create a title that will lead to immediate disappointment on the part of the advertiser. But, if you are offering a valuable service with a ton of benefits then your title should scream this.

Internet Business Techniques

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

The advent of internet has revolutionized the entire world. As a consequence of this, the latest hit among the marketing professionals is the internet marketing or e-marketing. As any other profession, internet marketing too has its own competition. Here are a few internet marketing techniques that would help you perform better with better results.

The first and foremost thing is to attract your clients. Calling every one of them and cajoling them to get your products or services may not be feasible. For better performance you can create a good web page with a professional look.

The content of the web page has more to do with final sale. The page should speak more for you than you speak. You can show case your skills, achievements, or any other positive stuff that makes the client find you. You can scan certificates, awards and stuff in your web page.

Always design a website that is user friendly. Have an accurate track of your website traffic. Track the user information from the data base and make follow ups with prospective clients.

Getting data on how the visitors landed up to your site, what kind of internet content attracts the user the most, how long they have viewed it, etc. is very important. This visitor data will surely help you to upgrade your website and to organize strategies to attract more traffic.

Provide links to other non-competing websites, this is professionally called reciprocal link baiting, but please do not provide Viagra links for people who are reading your recipe site. That is bizarre link sharing. And that kind of inappropriate sharing is not going to bring in new leads by link building.

Link building by directory submission is a good idea, but be careful to exchange links with good sites!

One of the most effective internet marketing techniques is email marketing. Establish yourself as a trustworthy and valuable resource that the visitors are tempted to sign up for your newsletter. Generate a data base of the subscribers and use the best service to send mails.

Use ezine advertising in the most effective way. Use apt words and advertise them in the appropriate sites where you can find out customers. Write informative and readable articles about your business or product which is published online as well as used by web masters. Also publish online press releases, which would ensure that your product is reaching a wide public.

One more powerful tool of internet marketing techniques is analysis writing from an internet marketing consultant or internet marketing coach. Competitor analysis is also prerequisite to find out what your competitors are planning for the future.

Use of affiliate marketing, reseller and associate programs or joint venture marketing to increase the promotion of your website increases the sales of your products or services. Bonuses and discount too help you go a long way.

You can also run contests through your website for attracting more customers. Last but not the least; one more potential solution in internet marketing techniques is to create blogs that facilitates clearly defined interaction with your visitors. Not all common man blogs. There is something called professional blogging, which many have forgotten. Differentiate between scrap blogging and professional blogging!

Tax Deductions and Internet Businesses

Monday, April 21st, 2008

If you own and operate a successful internet business then you are probably amazed at the amount of income that can be generated. With the low overhead associated with an online business the ability to maximize profits is enhanced. As such, it would seem that you will be able to amass a ton of money with an online business. While it is true you can amass a lot of money you will not be able to keep all of it. After all, you do have to pay taxes.

Since April 15th has passed many people have learned the downside of running an internet business: you are not allowed to keep all your money! Yes, the IRS gets a chunk of it but their chunk could probably be much smaller if you understand a few basic aspects of deductions for your business.

The common deductions associated with running an online business include internet connections, utility bills, computer related expenses such as software purchases, depreciations, Paypal and auction fees, accounting fees, etc. Often, people take this for granted and do not properly maintain accurate records of their expenditures. Because of this when tax time rolls around they are unable to take the tax deductions they are entitled to. Therefore, it is critical to maintain accurate records of expenditures related to your business and then apply them on your tax returns. Remember, when you are self employed you are only taxed on profits. So, accurate recording of business related expenses is critical so as not to pay tax on income that is not part of the profits. Hey, if Uncle Sam doesn’t want the money – why give it to them?!

The Magic Of A List

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

How can a list be magic you ask? Well most of the time it isn’t, but if it is used correctly, it can be a goldmine for your Internet business. What kind of lists do you usually see on a site or blog? Mostly the lists are for the “Best Posts of the Week” or My Favorite Blogs” or something like that. Those usually don’t drum up a lot of traffic or a lot of steady readers.

But a list that is beneficial to all, could drive in a lot of traffic for you and your readers and give you a mountain of repeat readers and these readers could also spread the news of your list on their blog. The list has not been perfected by all, but a few have masterminded it to make the most out of the list.

A great example of this is 45n5.com’s Top 100 List for Make Money Online blogs. This list has the Top 100 blogs in this niche that has a link to each and tells the Page Rank, Technorati and Alexa ratings. This is not only valuable for the blogs listed as they get PR-5 blog linking to them, it gives them a perspective on how they are doing against other like blogs.

Now Mark at 45n5.com has went a step farther and extended the list to anyone that sends him a link and his list is now at 330 members. The most spectacular thing about the list is that Mark also includes a widget for the blog owners to put on their site to list the ranking. So if only a third of these listed use the widget, then he has over 100 links back to him alone and that is great for his SEO.

So the next time you need to give your blog a boost, then come up with a list that will benefit all and you should do great.

An Offer Your Customers Can’t Resist

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

Every Internet marketer wants the visitors to their site to buy their product and when they don’t they wonder why. They ask themselves what they did wrong, what is wrong with the product, why can’t the customers see the outstanding value of their product. The thing is, it may not be the product alone or the price alone it is how the product was offered.

When an Internet marketer puts an e-book up for sale for $97, the customer may be reluctant to dish out that much money on an e-book unless it gives every secret and step-by-step rules for whatever the subject of the e-book is. No author of an e-book is going to reveal all unless they also charge an arm and a leg, so a compromise needs to be made.

The consumer is always looking for a deal and to get those customers, sellers have had to give in to the consumer and offer the best deal that they can. Take a restaurant for example. We have a local restaurant that offers that kids eat free on Tuesdays. Not only is the eatery jam packed on that night, but the customers may be more willing to buy a dessert or stop by the restaurant for lunch later in the week. This makes both parties happy and everyone is satisfied.

So how can the Internet marketer do the same as this restaurant?  Well along with the e-book, the seller may offer other bonus e-books or a free subscription to a newsletter. While these bonuses give the buyer an image of a great deal, the seller can add these items for little or nothing out of his pocket. The e-book can be obtained different ways for free and the newsletter can be self written and even have other sales offers in it to make more sales.

So the next time you want to sell an e-book, make the offer so irresistible to the  buyer that the can not refuse the offer. It will make them feel like they got a steal and it will make you feel rich as you make huge deposits to your bank account.

Membership Has Its Privileges

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

Membership does have its privileges, especially at the Country Club or the local card room. But membership can also have its privileges online too. That’s right. Membership sites are really popular right now and a lot of Internet marketers and businesses are going to them as a source of income.

The big draw to these sites is that they can bring in a regular income as compared to affiliate marketing or using AdSense. There are three basic groups that membership sites can be put into and they are: totally free, Free and paid, and totally paid membership sites. I will give examples of each below to help define each.

  • Totally Free - Yahoo Groups is a great example. There are thousands of sub-groups within this membership site, but it is as far as I know, totally free to join although some restrictions to membership to apply to some groups.
  • Free and Paid - Pogo.com is an example of this type. Pogo is a game site that offers free games for all to play. But they also make some games only available to “Club” members for a price of $39.99 a year. The last that I seen they had around 1.5 million paid subscribing members.
  • Totally Paid - There are a lot of these around and one that comes to mind is Wealthy Affiliates. They offer membership to their site for 29.99 a month in exchange for information, how-to’s and a very nice forum with tons of experienced Internet marketers willing to help you with your Internet business.

Starting one may seem kind of hard to do, but as with everything, there are software programs that make these membership sites simple to set up and run. Just Google “membership site software” and you would have many to chose from.  One of my favorite software scripts to use is called amember.  I have had great success with it and I can highly recommend it to you if your interested in starting a membership site.

Another simple form of a membership site is to develop a web page with information about your membership site.  Have a payment link for joining your membership, and then re-direct them to your favorite autoresponder with weekly or monthly information, or an email newsletter, ect.  for a specific period of time, say 3, 6 or 12 months.  Naturally, there is a lot more to running a successful autoresponder membership than what I can explain in a paragraph, but maybe in the near future I will have something with more detail for you to sink your teeth into.

The main thing with running a membership site is to have enough valuable information to give to your members that they see it as a benefit to be a member and pay for the information.

The same aspect is true also if you plan on joining a membership site. If the site does not benefit you or does not have enough information and products worth the membership price, then by all means leave them. A decrease in members will wake the owner up and let him know that something is a miss.

As with most things on the Internet take your time and do a lot of research before you strike out with your membership site.
