Help, I’ve Fallen And Have Nothing To Write About!

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

It happens. It happens to you, it happens to me and it happens to the best of bloggers. You are staring at your blank computer screen and you don’t have the faintest idea what you are going to write about. Everyday for the last thousand days you have had no problem slapping down a post to keep your readers happy, but today you can’t even remember your name let alone think of anything to right about. And you know if you don’t post something now, you are going to lose every reader you have that you have worked so hard for.

Today’s post is going to give you some tips on what to do, and it will happen, when it happens to you. So take a deep breathe and take a walk around the block to clear your head. (Hint, hint….Tip #1) The last thing you want is to have the pressure of not being able to post preventing you from writing even more. Here are some other tips for you.

  • Take a break - That is right, even if you have a deadline if it will help to take a break, it is better to be late than no post at all.
  • Just write - Clear your mind and just write. It doesn’t matter what you write about, just get back into the groove.
  • Change of venue - Get out of your office/home and go to the library or a friend’s computer to write.
  • Check out other blogs - Maybe an idea will be sprout from someone else’s blog and get your creative juices going.
  • Exercise - Have an exercise program. This will keep your body and mind fresh.
  • Get a routine - Write at the same time, have your writing clothes on and your writing music going.

These are a few of the things that you can do to get back into the writing frame of mind. Just don’t go more than a few days without writing or it will probably get worse. Remember that not writing will most likely affect your income sooner or later, so get the problem fixed soon. Good luck and talk to you soon.

Turn Bad News Into Profits For Your Internet Business

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

As many Internet marketers and online business people struggle to find a niche that is perfect for them, most of them ignore what is right in front of their noses every single day. All you have to do is go to Yahoo, MSN or your nightly news and read the headlines and there is your niche!

It sounds simple, but timing is everything. You have to be right on top of the news break and take action right away. I read an article on a recent event that took place that one person took advantage of and it paid off.

If you recall, a certain political leader from the state of New York was caught in a scandal that involved a call girl and this person was one of the first to get articles, a website with affiliate links, pictures and info out on this call girl and boy did she reap the rewards. She said her normal website traffic is around 25,000 hits a day and it went up to 1.5 million within hours of getting listed in Google and that she made about 8-9 months income in one day. Wow!

So, now the question is, is it right to make money off of someone else’s misfortune? I say no, but in this certain situation I think it was done correctly. The subject of the website was directed towards the call girl, who chose this profession, therefore this was not an attack on her unlike directing toward the ill fated ex-Gov who was caught cheating, letting his family and all of the people of New York state down and is now out of a job. Celebrity gossip is is a huge field, but be careful how far you take it.

So the next time you see some breaking news coming on the nightly news, get off your duff and take advantage of it and make some money. Thanks for stopping and will see you next time.

Think Out Of The Box For Mega Traffic Generation

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

Everybody says that content is king, but I think that is hogwash. You can spend all you want on a fancy website, have the greatest content availble for your niche, have all of your AdSense placed just right, but if you have no one coming to your blog, then it doesn’t mean diddly.

A fellow blogger, Caroline Middlebrook, started a blog last August and currently has over 1700 subscribers to her blog. Now those aren’t DoshDosh numbers, but they are still pretty impressive to say the least. I recommend you visit her blog to check out her content.

I have to admit that I am impressed with Carloline’s progress in such a short time and what she did a few days ago is one of the reasons she is where she is today. Caroline goes beyond the norm, out of the box maybe we should say, to bring people in to her blog.

Caroline constructed a contest to give away one of her future products that is coming out shortly and it is themed with the Easter holiday. She is having a Easter Egg hunt and all you have to do is search her site to find the eggs, place a link on your blog to the found egg. She hid a total of 30 eggs, 10 at a time over a three day period. She is a genius!

In case you don’t see the magic of this, I will show you. If one person finds all of the eggs and places a link on their blog to hers, she has just linkbaited for 30 backlinks to her site. Now take in the fact that that person had to look at probably at the least half of her blog pages each day to find all of the eggs that is probably around 300 pageviews total.

So, for the big flick. In exchange for a free copy of a future ecourse from Caroline, she charged 30 backlinks and 300 pageviews. Now multiply that by 20% of her readership and she is getting an estimated 10200 backlinks and 102,000 pageviews over a five day period! She is my HERO! Not to forget about the 340 posts that talk about the contest that also bring in new readers.

There are other examples of this out on the web, go and find them. Now is the time to jump outside that box and be creative. You never know what it may bring you. Thanks for stopping by.

Remember….There Is Always eBay

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

Since eBay was founded back in 1995, it has grown to be a very viable option for many people as a place to start an online business and to make money online. Currently eBay has over 276 million registered users around the world and an amazing $2039 worth in goods are traded on eBay every second! With stats like that it is no wonder people turn towards eBay when the start their online business.

Today I would like to look at the different ways that you can use eBay to make money. Some things may be obvious, others, maybe not. (Don’t forget to include eBay’s fee structure when you set the price of your items.) The money made on eBay can be for used for seed money for another online venture or just to put some money in your pocket.

This is one of the very first ways I generated seed money to push my Internet Business forward.  My wife and I would gather old items and sell them.  She would also go out to garage sales in our area and buy things dirt cheap and then list them on Ebay, and make a little money that way.  I even sold a bunch of old Hotwheel cars on Ebay to help fuel the fire.  I hated to get rid of them, but I knew my Internet Business had much more profit potential than what these Hotwheels could ever bring in.  They were just a “vehicle”, no pun intended, :) to provide me seed money towards where the real profit lay.

I know this isn’t the most glamorous of ways to make money online, but if your looking for some easy money to help give you a real push then this could be a solid method for you.  It is up to you.  So here we go…

  1. World sized yard sale - The best way to get rid of unwanted items that you may have.
  2. Sell your car - More and more people are selling their car on eBay and getting the price they ask for. Maybe you can find a cheap one and fix it up for a hefty profit.
  3. Sell your own prducts - Are you crafty or do you make your own product? What a cheap way to introduce it to the world.
  4. Auction finder - The best deals found at auctions can be the best money makers on eBay.
  5. eBay arbitrage - Find a product that is out of season or in a wrong category and buy it cheap, then resell it in right category for a profit.
  6. eBay’ers are human too - Some listings on eBay may not do well because the people listing them may have made a misspelling in the items title. Therefore it does not fall under anyones search and leaves a bargin for you.
  7. A flare for the dramatic - Do you have a truly unique item to sell? Like the world’s longest french fry, a rare baseball card or a whole town maybe? Then eBay is your place to get tremendous viral marketing for you item. News travels fast when a unique item is posted on eBay.

I hope this list gives you some ideas so that you can make some money online today. It is not hard to open an account on eBay, so give it a go.

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you have enjoyed today’s topic.

Outsourcing To Help Your Internet Business Grow

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

There comes a time when an Interent marketer has to rely on some help to get things done that they need done to move their online business to the next level. All of the big gurus have and probably still do it. It is called outsourcing. Outsourcing is where you hire outside help to provide content, website development or just plain old helping out around the site, like answering e-mail and comments, running contests etc.

When you are building your Internet business at first you can handle all of the posts and the few emails and comments that you may get. But as your site grows and you get more traffic, you will often need to get help with whatever you need to free up some time. There are some great outsorcing websites that bring these helpers to you and are listed below.

These sites are very reliable and easy to use. The trick is to know what you are asking for or should I say know  EXACTLY what you are looking for and that you are very descriptive about what you want. If you have a flower website, don’t ask for 5 articles about flowers, ask for 5 articles, 300-500 words in length, that describe the relationship of flowers to various holidays and include any keywords that you may want to concentrate on.

What I like to do when using these services is to browse through some of the project listings relating to my topic, and then select a handful of professional written descriptions that cover different criteria, e.g. “English must be your native language” or “if selected, this may lead to more continued business, ect.”  Then input these different project criteria into your own project.  By doing so, you will end up with a nice project description with good criteria that you might not have thought of on your own.

The old adage of “you get what you pay for” certainly applies to this topic. Don’t always go for the cheapest bid without checking references and samples of their work. You will be glad you did. Also, pay attention to the size of the company you are working for. While a company with many employees will probably give you what you want and deliver your project on time, a company of one employee may be able to give you more one on one service that you may need later on.

One tip I perfrom with Elance is to use the search feature and look for providers who have a top rating of 90 or better and are either in the U.S., Canada, or U.K.  This weeds out a lot of sub-standard providers and zero’s in on providers with my native language.  I have found there is too much of a language barrier with non-English speaking providers, and I have not had much luck with them completeing projects that read well and flow with good english.

I hope that this post will help you as you build your Interent business and start to make money online. Remember to check my sidebar for great reference material to help you along the way.

How Much Do You Focus On Your Internet Business?

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

Today, I want you to be brutally honest with yourself when you answer the following question. How much do you focus on your Internet business? Are you totally devoted and that is all that you have to do in your life? Or, is it just something on the back burner that you pay attentions to when you have the time or feel like getting to it?

I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news, but you probably don’t focus on your Internet business as much as you think you do. Most people think that multitasking is a great way to get things done. You are accomplishing many things at once in the time that it would take to do one or two things.

According to Wikipedia, “Multitasking has been criticized as a hindrance to completing tasks or feeling happiness.” At one time multitasking was the thing to do to get work done. But, in reality, it was just an excuse to eat breakfast, talk on the phone and watch TV while you were supposed to writing an article for your next blog entry.

Total focus is needed to accomplish your goals and to be successful in your Internet business. What does this mean? It means that when you sit down to work on your project, whatever it be, that is all you do. No TV, radio, phone calls, checking e-mail etc… you get the idea. If you are sitting down to write an article, then that is what you do, nothing else.

Make a list of what you want to accomplish the night before, that way when you get up, your time is already defined and your focused on getting the list done. If something pops in your mind while your are doing your project, then just jot it down or record it quickly to a mini-recorder and take care of it when the task at hand is completed.

Also, make an effort to get rid of time waisting events in your life such as watching TV or playing online games. This will give you more time to structure your life around your business and allow you to focus on it a lot more.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and as always feel free to leave your question or comment.

Do You Have A “Grab ‘em Post?”

Monday, March 10th, 2008

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you find this post helpful in your quest to make money online. As always, feel free to ask a question or leave a comment, as your participation is always welcome.

So, do you have a “grab ‘em post” or article that always brings in your readers? A post that your readers always look forward to and return to your site just to read that special post or article. Most of us don’t, but that is OK, because it takes time and a little luck to find yours. Let me give you an example.

Jeremy Schoemaker over at Shoemoney.com has a weekly post at his blog called Free Shirt Friday and is very popular with his audience and the people he is giving a plug to. Basically all it is some business or website sends him a shirt, he takes pictures with it on and makes a post about the company and shows the picture of the shirt.

Big deal you say? Well that company is out a shirt, but has a cool plug on a PR - 6 site and it also exposes their company to Shoe’s 15,000+ blog subscribers and Shoe gets all the traffic coming to his site to check out the new Free Shirt Friday post and they probably check out other posts too. Pure genius!

It is an all around good thing for everyone and should be a motivating factor for everyone to step outside the box and come up with something unique like this. Mark over at 45n5.com has a unique feature also. He made a pledge to make a post everyday on his site that had a video in it for a whole year. Besides the great and entertaining content, there is always the wonder in the back of your mind if he is going to make it or not. One neat thing he does with these videos is that he also gives a written summary of the video below it in case you can’t watch it right at that time(like for those at work ).

So, will you ever find your “Grab ‘em post” or not. You probably will, but most likely it will find you! Thanks for stopping today and will talk to you soon.

My Internet Business Blog Rankings Dramatically Increased, Want To Know How?

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

Hi All,

I just thought I would fill you in on my latest internet business blog stats.  I’m doing this in order to provide you with this information for your own benefit so you can implement it in your own internet business if your needing some help.

Over the last few days my blog rankings in Google have jumped up a respective 2.5 pages for my main keyword, and my Alexa rankings have dropped through the floor 48,000!(the lower the better with Alexa).

Is it something magical I did?  No, not at all.  In a general sense,  everything I did to attain these results have come from the methods I teach and the products I sell.  Naturally, there is a little more to it than that.  There are those extra little insider secrets or tweaks that are applied, but in an overall general picture everything I did to attain the aforementioned success can be found in my blog posts or in the products and resources listed in the sidebar over there on the right hand side of this page.

Some of the top suggestions or advice I can to help your success is…  if you don’t have a blog, Blogging For Profit And Fun -Part One, and 12 Free Ways To Drive Traffic - Part Two will show you how to get set up correctly.

If you don’t submit articles, Article Pro Software is an awesome tool to use for article submissions.  It is completely different than submitting to the major article directories and is very effective.  Read this story from one it’s users.

The Ezine Publisher List is an “external list” you can use with Article Pro Software to add even more publishers to your submissions.

Blog Carnival submissions are another great way to drive traffic.  If your not familiar with it, pick up a copy of this traffic procedure.

These are just a couple of main procedures I use.  There are more along with other strategies, tips, ect. that are not suited to offer on this type of community blog.

Additional resources I provide that can help you are the FREE reports (ebooks) you receive in your email inbox and other reports, ebooks, products and services found in the sidebar.  These are all good resources that I use in my business to succeed and make money.  Won’t you join me?

Remember that saying from science class?  A body at rest tends to stay at rest, and a body in motion tends to stay in motion.

What are you waiting for? Let’s get a move on it. :)
