Building Your Internet Business (Part 4)

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Hi All,

Welcome back for part 4 and the finale of “Building Your Internet Business”, a series of posts that will help you build up your Internet business into a successful, money making machine.

Up till now we have been building our list of prospective buyers by giving away free advice or reports that they may be interested in. Now we will look at another way to build up your list.

PPC or Pay-Per-Click advertising is a very effective way to send traffic to your landing page so people can join your mailing list. PPC also brings in another factor that you may not be used to and that is that you have to pay for this service.

PPC is basically where you pay Google or Yahoo to put your ads out in front of thousands of people and if they are interested then they will click on your ad. Your ad can cost a few cents to over $5-$10 PER click. Some of the big Internet marketing gurus have budgets of $10,000 or more a month to spend on PPC.

There are three major places that you can use PPC, with Google leading the others two fold in results and users. They are:

Google AdWords

Yahoo Search Marketing

MSN adCenter

Each of these programs has detail instructions that are beyond the scope of this series. Also, you may want to visit Googlelady  as she has tons of information on Google and PPC and making money online in general.

Now that you have PPC down and tons more of people being added to your list, let’s look at another way to generate income from your list using affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is where you send an email, list a banner or ad that directs your reader to a company’s widget or website and they pay you a percentage for selling that widget(s) for them. Affiliate marketing is a great and cheap way to make money online and becomes easier once you use your list to help you.

Here is a list of some companies that have hundreds of affiliate programs for you to use. These are much easier to use than signing up for each individual program and they help you track your results also.

Commission Junction

Linkshare

Shareasale

Rocket Profit

NeverBlueAds

These are just a few of them and others are easy to find by doing a quick search.

I hope that you have enjoyed this series, and I hope that has been helpful to you in your effort to help you make money online and grow your Internet business. Feel free to leave a comment or ask a question, your input is greatly appreciated.

Too Many Ways To Make Money Online

Monday, January 28th, 2008

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a great weekend.

We should be finishing up the series “Building Your Internet Business” on Wednesday.

The examples discussed in that series are just a few of the many ways you can make money online.  They are good solid examples to follow if your looking for some different methods.  It’s really not too difficult, but it does take some effort and work.

As I mentioned, there are so many ways to make money and I believe that is what confuses or distracts most people from ever succeeding.  People start one thing and then get side tracked with another, and never finish the first method they were trying.  You need to stay focused and master one or two methods before you jump on the wagon.

If you know those one or two methods have made money for someone, then they will make money for you too, if you just stick with it.

Later in this week I will announce another solid and profitable method that I continually make money with on the Internet.  It is called “How I Make A Handsome Profit Niche Blogging Without Actually Blogging” also known as “Bogus Blogging.”

If your looking for a method that requires little ongoing maintenance and can be repeated over and over again to create a small fortune, then this will be of interest to you.

Until then, I hope your enjoying the current series as we will be wrapping it up in the next few days.

Building Your Internet Business (Part 3)

Friday, January 25th, 2008

Hi All,

Welcome back for part 3 of “Building Your Internet Business”, a series of posts that will help you build up your Internet business into a successful, money making machine.

In the last part we touched on what autoresponders do with the e-mail addresses you have collected from you giving away some free information to people. After a few days or weeks you will notice that your list is growing and growing.

Now, I want you to imagine that each of those e-mail addresses that you have collected are like mini ATM machines and all you have to do is send them the right combination and they will open up and send you money!

Your autoresponder can be set up to send reply e-mails at anytime. You can set it up so that exactly one day after they give you their e-mail address, AWeber sends a reply message that you have written. You can also set it up so you can manually send your list messages when you want and who you want to send it to.

Remember that these “ATM’s” will send you money for your product that you are selling, if you give them the right combination. What is that combination you ask?

It depends! If your customers seek information and products constantly, then sending a newsletter or message once a month may not be enough for them, while sending too many too soon may make some of your customers feel like your are spamming them, even though they opted-in to your list.  Travis Sago, the original Bum Marketer, is very good at this. Visit his site and sign up for his info and see how he puts his autoresponder to work and the relationship he builds with his customers.

The rule I go by is, it is not that the money is in the list, but that the money is in the relationship that you form with the people in your list. If you are honest, give out a lot of info and every once in a while you throw in a new product for sale, you will probably have a great response and the “ATM’s” will open up for you.

Once you do the this the secret to your success is to DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN! That’s right, wash, rinse and repeat. Keep doing this and the next thing you know you will have multiple groups of ATM’s depositing into your bank account and making your Internet business a success.

I hope that you have enjoyed part 3 of this series, the last part of this series we will be touching on using PPC and affiliate programs to help you make money online and grow your Internet business.

Building Your Internet Business (Part 2)

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Hi All,

Welcome back for part 2 of “Building Your Internet Business”, a series of posts that will help you build up your Internet business into a successful, money making machine.

In the last post I talked about “building a list” and how important it is to your Internet business. In this post I will be talking about what to do with that list once you start collecting this customer information.

From your work earlier, you now have people coming to your website and giving you their e-mail addresses in exchange for some free information for them. The question now is, what to do with the e-mail addresses once they are collected.

The answer to that is have an autoresponder, a must tool for every Internet marketer. When your new customers input their information to get free stuff, it is linked to a autoresponder that in return stores their information and then sends them the free stuff or a link to the free stuff. It does all the work for you!

One of the best autoresponders around is from AWeber Communicationsand can be found in my sidebar under “Internet Business Products” about half way down. It is uncanny at what this autoresponder can do for you to make your life so much easier. Go to AWeber.com and take a look around and go through the demo to see all of the features this tool has.

Not only do they have fast delivery of your messages, they have templates for newsletters, they will help you make and design opt-in forms for your site, they have free training guides and videos and expert, unlimited, free customer service. All this and a guarantee that “if we don’t help build your opt-in list and convert more website visitors we’ll give you a 100% no questions asked refund.”

Once you are familiar with AWeber and all of the features it provides, part 3 will discuss what to do with this multi-talented tool and how it will help build your Internet business and make you money.

Building Your Internet Business (Part 1)

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Hi All,

Today I am starting a series of posts that will help you build up your Internet business into a successful, money making machine.

These posts will not be full of “Guru Secrets” or anything like that. I will provide you with basic, fundamental steps that will help you make money on the Internet.

So, your are sitting there wanting to sell something to someone, but you are unsure on what to do next. Now, what you are selling is not of importance right now. It doesn’t matter if it is something of your own creation like an E-book or if it is a product from one of the affiliate programs you are a member of.(I will cover affiliate marketing more in depth later), what matters is that you have something to sell.

So you have a product to sell, but no one to sell it to. How are you going to get your customers? There are many ways that you can accomplish  this, but I like to get the most bang for my buck and I will try to get as many customers as I can and do it for free or as cheap as possible.

Building your customer base is called “building a list” and every one of the top Internet marketers do this as this is the most important part of your Internet business.

So how are you going to start building your list? One of the most popular and best ways to do this to give something away. I know, you are saying that your supposed to be making money not giving stuff away.

Giving away information is an easy way to attract people and in exchange for this information they give you their name and e-mail address. The information you give away can be written by you or you can hire some one to write it for you, it doesn’t matter, just be sure that it is related to your product you want to sell later.

You will want to post ads to Craigslist, forums, make a Squidoo lens or even start a PPC campaign to drive traffic to your website so they can get their free info and you can collect their e-mail addresses. Once they start doing this, your list is growing and your bank account will be too!

In part two, I will discuss what to do with these e-mail addresses once you get them and how they will help you make money and build your Internet business.

Like what you’ve read so far?  Then we encourage you to subscribe to our RSS feed.  The feed shows my latest Internet Business posts in full and can easily be viewed in your favorite news reader.

Setting Goals For Your Online Business

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

Thanks for stopping by CraigSAndrews.com today. As always feel free to leave a comment or question for me about making money online with your online business. I hope that you find my information helpful and if there is a topic that you would like to see discussed please let me know.

Today I would like to talk about setting goals for your online business. I know, you have heard about setting goals ever since you were a kid and if you haven’t picked up the habit yet, then there is no time like the present to start.

By setting goals you can achieve more, improve performance, increase your motivation to achieve, increase your pride and satisfaction in your achievements, improve your self-confidence and plan to eliminate attitudes that hold you back and cause unhappiness. In short, goals can help you achieve success in your online business and in life.

The following are key factors to remember when setting goals.
1. Write down your goals - Always write them down and review them daily, if not more. If you have a goal to make $100 a day on the Internet, then tape a piece of paper on your monitor with the number 100 on it.

2. Set realistic goals - Set goals that are realistically attainable. If you don’t then you are setting yourself up for failure.

3. Set short and long term goals - Set short goals like daily, weekly and monthly goals as well as yearly and longer term goals. The shorter goals will not only help you achieve the long term goals, they will also give you confidence as you complete them.

4. Use positive language - The use of positive language will make your goals more pleasant. Also, use terms like “I will” instead of “I should” or “I’ll try.”

I hope that these tips will help you achieve your goals for your Internet business and in life. As always, the tools in my sidebar are here to help you and can help you achieve your goals.

Making Money Online for Free?

Monday, January 14th, 2008

Is this possible? Can you make money online for FREE? Don’t you have to pay hundreds of dollars for PPC ads to drive traffic to your squeeze page just to hope that someone may return you a profit from your investment.

In short, the answer is yes! You can make money online for your Internet business, be it new or old, and not pay one red cent for your efforts.

One of my favorite places to do this is Craigslist.org, a very basic, community based, classified ad and forum site. Each month, Craigslist gets over 9 billion page views and has a US following of 2.5 million people. Overall, it is the 7th most visited website in the world.

The beginning Internet marketer can use Craigslist to develop ad writing skills, build a nice little bankroll to use for other projects or to test the market. Whereas the experienced marketer can test PPC campaigns, build a “list” for future promotions and build a nice little bankroll for future use too.

Craigslist does have rules. For instance, you may post to one category and in one city, no more often than about every 48 hours and if the subsequent posts are similar they will be blocked. You can cancel the first ad after 48 hours then re-list it so you are near the top of the ads. In other words they don’t like SPAM. I know these rules seem anal and very strict, but this what has made Craigslist the way it is today, so be careful because they are not shy about terminating your account for violations.

Putting up an ad for a free report or e-book is a great way to build a list. Just put a link in the ad to your autoresponder, like the one I use at AWeber. When they reply, they are sent a confirmation link and then they get the free info and you have a new name on your list.

Other websites that you can use for free that will help you make money online include MySpace.com and Squidoo.com. These sites were talked about last week and you can read about them in the post called “Top 3 Resources for Your Internet Business.”

I would be interested in hearing from you and what sites you use that are similar to Craigslist. Feel free to leave a comment and let us know how these free sites have or have not helped you make money online.
