There are literally hundreds of ways to make money on the internet, but I want to cover some popular additional sources that many people use to make money on the internet.  Possibly a few of these sources you may have overlooked and can put them to use in your Internet Business.

First, let me briefly go over what I consider the three major categories to making money on the Internet.

  1. Information Product Creation - creating your own products or services to sell online.
  2.  Affiliate Marketing - selling other peoples products or services to make money.
  3. Online Advertising - placing ads on your website to generate income.

Using any of these three categories can generate income.  By far, the most profitable is to create and sell your own products and services.  Sure you can make a lot of money with affiliate marketing, but it takes months to get an affiliate income going.  You can create a product, draft a sales letter, add a payment service, and get it live in as little as 24 to 48 hours to be conservative.  Usually with 24 hours you can be up and running, and start making money.

Online advertising can bring in some revenue each month, but I don’t consider it to be the foundation to your Internet business wealth.  Online advertising would be sources like Google Adsense, Adbrite, or any of the many advertising programs available to leverage your website.

With that said, let’s take a look at some very popular additional sources you can also use to make money on the Internet.

  1. Adbrite - This is where you seel space on your site for text ads.
  2. Adsense - Google Adsense displays relevant ads basing those ads in relation to your site’s content.
  3. Amazon Affiliate Program - By using the Amazon icon, you can sell anything you can find on Amazon.
  4. CafePress - If you provide a design they will put it on T-shirts, mugs, stickers, pins, posters, ect.  Refer people to join and earn 15% commission.
  5. Clickbank - One of the largest affiliate programs to join.  Earn a commission by selling other people’s digital and e-book products.  Commissions vary depending on the advertiser and product.  There is a one time $49.00 account activation fee.
  6. Commission Junction - A huge network of advertisers and publishers.  Hundreds of brand name companies you can partner with.
  7. Elance - You can provide or search for freelance opportunities relating to Web design, programming, writing, business consulting, and more.
  8. Ebay & Ebay Stores - Sell products on Ebay or through their stores.
  9. Feedburner - By adding ads to your RSS feed you can get paid per impression.  Although I use feedburner I haven’t tried adding ads yet.
  10. LinkShare - Very similar to Commission Junction.  They are also associated with hundreds of companies.
  11. Overstock.com - Also similar to Amazon.  You can join as an affiliate and receive up to 8% commission on all products, and 3% commisssion on auction products.
  12. Pay Per Post - Get paid to write about products on your blog.  Since you are placing these review posts, I would suggest writing about products that you trust and can really be of benefit to others.
  13. RentaCoder - Similar to Elance, but specializes  in software coding.  If your a software coder looking for freelance work, look no more.
  14. Shareasale - This is another site that is similar to Commission Junction and Linkshare.

I thought I would list these sources in that you might be able to use them in your Internet business.  Possibly a few of them you may have never thought of.  That is my goal here.  To get you thinking of additional sources you can implement in your money making strategies.  Maybe from this list a light will turn on, and you are able to come up with a few other sources on your own.

If you do, why don’t you leave us a comment and we’ll see how big a list we can all develop.  I started with 14, let see how many others we can come up with.  Make a brief comment, then list a source and the URL.

Can we break a hundred?
